Burleson Giving Away Mosquito Dunks

Dunks can be picked up at the city's Municipal Service Center

The City of Burleson is giving away mosquito dunks to residents.

Dunks are small tablets of larvicide that kill mosquitoes in standing water, bird baths, stagnant pools and water troughs.

The tablets are environmentally safe and target mosquito larve when placed in water for 30 to 45 days.

The city is allocating two dunks per household and they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  To receive the dunks, residents should go to the Municipal Service Center at 725 Southeast John Jones Drive between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Proof of residency, such as a utility bill or driver's license, will be required.

Mosquito dunks are also commonly available at area hardware and home and garden stores.

Residents should call 817-426-9832 for more information or visit the city's webpage.
