One North Texas OB/GYN tells us he's seeing more and more women turning to him for general healthcare advice.
"If it's simple, it's fine. However, if it's a long term issue, like blood pressure or cholesterol issues, then I encourage them to go see a PCP (primary care physician)," says Dr. Roderick Diggs, MD, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
Dr. Diggs says because OB/GYNs see their patients on a regular basis, they develop a long term, trusting relationship.
For years, Diggs says he's had patients ask him about minor health-related issues. He says it's happening now more than ever before, because many of his patients don't want to pay for two doctor visits.
