Fort Worth Man Killed in Crash With Street Racers

The crash happened around 4 a.m. Sunday

A 22-year-old man was killed Sunday morning when street racers caused a collision in South Fort Worth, according to police.

Keenan Hilsabeck's father said his son was with a coworker when the car he was a passenger in was hit by a car involved in the street race.

"I don't know why at 4 o'clock in the morning somebody would be drag racing another vehicle because this is how it ends a lot of times," Mike Hilsabeck said.

Fort Worth Police said one of the racers ran from the scene, which was located at the intersection of Columbus Trail and McCart Avenue. So far, investigators said they have not made an arrest.

Hilsabeck's family said the 22-year-old worked at a local restaurant as a bartender and had helped to close not long before the wreck.

"I think he would like people to remember him as the funny guy, the good friend that people could talk to anytime," Mike Hilsabeck said.

Fort Worth Police said two others were also injured in the crash. Their conditions are unknown.
