Cheese Club Express Mac & Cheese Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns

Fourth Street Barbecue Inc./ Packing Division has voluntarily recalled two macaroni and cheese products over concerns about possible salmonella contamination.

The recall affects Cheese Club Express Mac & Cheese 4 cup dinner products and Double Takes Macaroni & Cheese 2 cup dinner products. Powdered cheese packets in the products may be contaminated with salmonella, the company said.

The recall affects products with October and November 2017 best by dates.

No one has reported contracting salmonella because of the dinners.

Salmonella can cause diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps. Most individuals recover without treatment, though in some cases, diarrhea can be so severe a patient needs to be hospitalized.

The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe reaction.
