Report: Brent's Meeting with Goodell “Went Well”

Josh Brent met with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Thursday

Former Cowboys defensive tackle took another step toward returning to the NFL on Thursday when he met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and according to Jean-Jacques Taylor of ESPN Dallas, that meeting went well.

The purpose of the meeting was to determine whether the league would hand down a suspension to Brent for the 2012 single-car crash that killed his teammate and best friend Jerry Brown, Jr., or allow him reinstatement based on the punishment--180 days in jail and a rehab facility--he received from the court.

Whenever Brent does come back--assuming he will be coming back, at some point--Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said the team will have a roster spot for him, and head coach Jason Garrett echoed that support.
