According to lists compiled by the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association (and referenced in this article in the Dallas Business Journal) about 30 restaurants opened in 2008, but more than 60 have closed this year.
Including large closings like Bennigan's and Starbucks, many high-end eateries are suffering due to the economic downturn, with many consumers "trading down," according to experts.
