Work Finally Underway on Downtown Dallas Condo and Hotel Tower

Construction has started on a downtown Dallas condo and hotel tower.The formal groundbreaking for the $250 million Hall Arts Residence condominium tower and Hall Arts Hotel project was back in April.But not much has happened with the project on Ross Avenue since then."We had some delays but have gotten our permits from the city and have started," developer Craig Hall said. "These things always take longer than you expect."The 25-story tower will include 44 condos starting at price at $2 million.The 183-room Hall Arts hotel will be operated by Virginia-based Crescent Hotels & Resorts, which also has downtown's historic Adolphus Hotel.Dallas architect HKS designed both the condo tower and the hotel with will be across the street from the Winspear Opera House and will include retail space on the ground floor along Flora Street.The construction is next door to Hall's 18-story KPMG Plaza office tower - the first phase of his 2-block Hall Arts development.The project will take just over two years to complete.It's one of three new residential towers on the way downtown.Chicago-based developer Amli is building a 45-story apartment tower on Field Street near Ross Avenue.And developer ZOM is building is planning a 364-unit high-rise luxury apartment tower called Atelier that will be constructed on Flora Street.  Continue reading...
