Woman Fatally Struck After Walking in Front of Car, Denton Police Say

A woman was fatally struck after walking in front of car that had a green light late Tuesday night in Denton, police said. The woman has been identified as 48-year-old Tamara Brewer, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner. The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Loop 288 at Kings Row, between Mingo Road and East Sherman Drive, about 10:30 p.m. The area is less than one mile from Brewer's home. Brewer crossed the intersection, walked in front of the car that had a green light and was struck, Denton police spokesman Shane Kizer said. "Obviously we're going to investigate it fully, but it looks like there's not much that the driver could've done to avoid this," Kizer said.  Continue reading...
