Video Shows Woman's Quarrel With Man Who Told Her and Her Mom to Speak English at Cracker Barrel in El Paso

An El Paso woman's video of an argument in which she and her mother were confronted at a restaurant by a man who told them, "This is America - speak English," has gone viral.The incident took place Friday at a Cracker Barrel on the city's west side, as reported by KVIA-TV, El Paso's ABC affiliate.Jasmin Nolan and her mother were leaving the restaurant and talking in Spanish when, she said, the unidentified man uttered the statement to them, prompting an argument.After about five minutes, Nolan told the news station, she began recording the altercation with her phone."I can speak English and Spanish," Nolan tells the man, who is sitting in a patio rocking chair. "I'm bilingual and in this country I can speak whatever language I want."Nolan posted the two-and-a-half-minute video on her Facebook page, where it has tallied more than 7,000 views so far.  Continue reading...
