UT Police Chief Calls Austin Bombings ‘a Terrorist Act' as He Reassures Students, Parents

AUSTIN — David Carter, police chief at the University of Texas at Austin, responded to bombings when he worked SWAT and homicide as a city cop. But he's never seen never anything like this.The "serial bomber" who has planted a half-dozen explosive devices in and around Austin this month has cast a pall of anxiety and dread over over the people of this, one of the safest cities in America.
