Texas Man Dies After Falling Into Tire Shredder

A Houston man died after he fell into a tire shredder and was unable to get out.Byron Jones, 26, was killed Friday at the Genan tire-recycling facility in northeastern Harris County, according to Andrew Seerden, an attorney for Jones' family.KTRK-TV reported that Jones got stuck in the machine and could not free himself. Co-workers reported him missing when they couldn't find him.Friday was Jones' fourth day working at Genan, Seerden told the Houston Chronicle. "I don't know exactly what safety training he received at this point," he said. Seerden told the television station that the family planned to file a lawsuit "to hold all negligent and grossly negligent parties fully accountable for this tragedy."Jones is survived by his wife and a 3-year-old daughter.Representatives for Genan have not commented on the incident.  Continue reading...
