A man linked to shoddy home-remodeling projects was arrested after a three-week investigation in Fort Worth.Ernest Thibodeaux, 51, of new Orleans, was charged with felony theft between $2,500 to $30,000 and was held on $2,500 bond in the Tarrant County Jail.He was arrested after police investigated some fraudulent home remodeling projects in Fort Worth.Thibodeaux called himself "Kris Malachi," and police believe he was involved with projects that weren't completed after he had been paid, or work done didn't comply with code regulations. In addition, the suspect never applied for building permits.Thibodeaux also had outstanding warrants in Alabama and Mississippi, Fort Worth police said.In some cases, Thibodeaux may have identified himself as a New Orleans police officer, but he had never worked for the department, Fort Worth police said.
