Stray Bullet Kills San Antonio 14-year-old

A San Antonio 14-year-old has died after he was hit by a stray bullet that flew into his home when three men started shooting nearby, police say. Angel Gabara was wounded in the head late Friday near the 200 block of St. Christopher Walk. The bullet traveled through the window of the home before it hit Gabara, according to the San Antonio Express-News.He was taken to University Hospital in critical condition. Three suspects — Juan Martinez, 18, Andres Martinez, 20, and Richard Montez, 33 — were arrested after a nine-hour standoff at a nearby apartment.Each of the suspects faces a felony charge of aggravated assault causing bodily injury, but murder charges could be filed.San Antonio police spokesman Officer Doug Greene told the Express-News that the suspects fired about 50 rounds. They reportedly said they had felt threatened by someone nearby. Records from the Bexar County jail showed that Andres Martinez was released on bond Sunday afternoon.
