Starting Thursday, Fort Worth Is Looking to Hire 1,300 for Dickies Arena Jobs

From ushers to cooks to ticket-takers, Fort Worth’s new sports and event venue is looking to hire 1,300 people before its planned November opening.Starting Thursday and continuing throughout the summer, hiring fairs are planned for full- and part-time positions at Dickies Arena, a 14,000-seat multipurpose facility under construction. The fairs are organized by Trail Drive Management Corp., the nonprofit that’ll operate the arena.Applicants should bring resumes and be prepared for on-the-spot interviews at the fairs being held at Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. The $540 million arena is a public-private project to give Fort Worth residents “the opportunity to experience top-notch entertainment,” said spokeswoman Alissa Cunningham. City voters approved spending $225 million in public money for the arena, with the remainder raised by a private group led by Fort Worth billionaire Ed Bass.  Continue reading...
