Southern Dallas Teacher Vacancies Hurt Kids Who Need Help the Most

We're halfway through the school year, and there are dozens of Dallas ISD classrooms without full-time teachers. That's not necessarily unusual. But it is disturbing — especially when you consider that half the vacancies are clustered in the districts of three southern Dallas trustees — Bernadette Nutall, Joyce Foreman and Lew Blackburn — where many students are already struggling.How do we expect the kids most in need of stability and support to ever close the achievement gap if they don't have full-time teachers to help them?  Continue reading...
