Sen. Bob Hall Standing Ground in District 2 Republican Primary Against Four-term House Rep. Cindy Burkett

State Rep. Cindy Burkett's bid to cross over to the Texas Senate was bolstered by her current House constituents in Dallas County on Tuesday, but in the wider reaches of Senate District 2, Republican incumbent Bob Hall was holding his ground in the Republican primary.Eastern Dallas County showed solid support for Burkett, the four-term state representative from Sunnyvale who offered a more moderate alternative to Hall's Tea Party roots. She trailed overall late Tuesday, but led in the Dallas County vote. And it was Dallas County that was largely uncounted late Tuesday with 68 of 127 precincts yet to be counted. Only about half of the Senate District 2 population resides in Dallas County, however.
