San Antonio Father Fatally Shot 14-year-old Son in Bed, Police Say

A 14-year-old San Antonio boy was fatally shot by his father as he lay in bed in the family's San Antonio home early Wednesday, police told the San Antonio Express-News. Around 6 a.m., police received multiple reports of gunshots in the East Side neighborhood. Upon arrival, they found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest, officials told the Express-News. He died after being taken to a hospital. Police have not released his name or his father's.A search of the home revealed shell casings in every room, the Express-News reported. San Antonio police Chief William McManus said the father fired multiple weapons, and officers recovered handguns, an AR-15 and a shotgun at the scene. The father claimed the shots came from outside the home, the Express-News reported. However, police told the paper that they couldn't find any shell casings outside.
