The Dallas Zoo said goodbye to a beloved matriarch this week as it announced the death of Kisutu the cheetah.Kisutu was 16 — one of the oldest cheetahs in an American zoo, and well beyond the life expectancy for the speedy cats. She died peacefully on Wednesday, the zoo said.Although she had not been on display for some time because of her age, Kisutu had been living a happy and healthy life out of the public's eye.She "was one of many older Dallas Zoo animals that guests don't see, but that still receive the same care and attention from keepers and staff until the very end," the zoo said.
