Registered Sex Offender From Garland Gets Life in Prison After He's Found Guilty of Sexual Abuse of Two Girls

A registered sex offender who sexually assaulted two girls was sentenced this week to life in prison.Steven Glen Baugh, 34, of Garland was convicted on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of children after a two-day bench trial that ended Tuesday.According to the Collin County district attorney's office, a child reported to a guidance counselor in November 2016 that Baugh had sexually assaulted her. As part of an investigation through the Collin County Child Abuse Task Force, the girl revealed that the abuse began when she was 6 or 7 years old and continued until she was 8. Three days before his criminal trial was set to begin in July 2017, a second girl came forward at a church youth retreat and revealed that Baugh had sexually assaulted her once when she was 12. Visiting District Judge Carmen Rivera-Worley heard evidence on the charges involving both girls and found Baugh guilty. Baugh served five years in prison after being convicted in 2004 of aggravated sexual assault of a child. As part of his sentence, he was required to register as a sex offender.
