Prominent Dallas Activists Ask for More Homicide Detectives Amid a Bloody May

Two prominent Dallas activists, who have often protested against the city's police department, demanded on Thursday that commanders provide one unit with more officers.Activists Olinka Green and Jeff Hood said they want the short-staffed department to beef up the homicide unit as May ends with an unusually high number of homicides, most of which have occurred in southern Dallas.As of Thursday evening, the department so far in May had reported 36 homicide cases, a one-month total unseen since the 1990s.“My concern is the families.
