Police Investigate Suspicious Package at Dallas Abortion Clinic

An abortion clinic in northeast Dallas was evacuated Friday morning after a suspicious package was found there.Police were called about 8 a.m. to Southwest Women's Surgery Center in the 8600 block of Greenville Avenue.Three hours later, a dozen police units remained at the scene, including the department's bomb squad. The unit's bomb robot was prepared to inspect the package.No word yet whether any threats preceded its discovery, but the area around the clinic has been evacuated as a precaution.WFAA-TV (Channel 8) reports that police are canvassing other abortion clinics in Dallas for any similar reports.  Continue reading...
