Person Posed as Dallas Sheriff's Department Employee as Part of Scam, Officials Say

Officials are warning residents to be cautious after they say a man was scammed out of $2,500 by someone posing to be a Dallas Sheriff's Department employee.The victim of the scam had been corresponding with a man about renting a house in Cedar Hill, the Dallas County Sheriff's Department said. The complainant, who was not identified, had agreed to pay the suspect $2,500 to move into the house.  Continue reading...
