NBC 5 Forecast: Showers and Rumbles of Thunder Possible Early

Keep the umbrella handy. Scattered showers and rumbles of thunder will be possible late morning into midday. A broken complex of storms will move southward from Oklahoma into North Texas through the morning. These storms will weaken as they move into North Texas, but be ready for brief showers and some lightning. A weak cold front will slide south across the region later today, bringing a reinforcement of dry air. Expect a return to sunshine this afternoon with highs in the 80s. Unseasonably cool temperatures will continue for the next few days. The normal high for this time of year is 91, but highs in the 80s can be expected through Thursday.After a couple of cooler days, it's back to more of a June-like feel Friday through Father's Day weekend, with highs in the 90s.
