NBC 5 Forecast: Early Morning Storms Moving Through

Line of storms are rolling through North Texas this morning with heavy rain and lightning as they head east-southeast through North Texas. Although not quite severe, these storms are capable of 40 mph wind gusts. Storms are a bit stronger south of DFW. Small hail will be possible. The storms will push east of the DFW Metroplex before sunrise. Most of the area will see clearing by 7 a.m.Outside of thunderstorms, look for partly cloudy skies with highs in the low to mid 90s, and maximum heat index values of over 100 F.Be sure to stay weather aware! Additional storms will be possible late tonight. Damaging wind gusts and large hail will be the main threats. Flooding rain may also take place.Dry and hot weather will be the main weather features Thursday and Friday. We may see a few more storms this upcoming weekend.
