NBC 5 Forecast: A Break in the Triple Digit Streak With Scattered Storms

Scattered showers and storms have developed along the Red River and will continue to shift south through the morning as a weak cold front slide through the area. The highest coverage of rain will stay north of DFW but be ready for a wet commute. Behind the boundary, the wind will blow from the north and northeast, helping to bring us some slight relief from the heat. Highs this afternoon should reach the mid 90s. We will get at least a few days without triple-digit heat ... but it's still August and we're not quite done with summer heat just yet. Highs will climb back into the upper 90s by the end of the work week and weekend.
