Man Gets Life Sentence for Killing, Burning Woman Dumped by Lake Arlington

A Tarrant County jury sentenced a man to life in prison Thursday for the murder of a woman whose body was dumped and set on fire near Lake Arlington in 2015. Jeremy Myers, 25, is the last of five defendants to be convicted for his role in the murder of Brittany "Pearl" Chappell, a 30-year-old mother, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.Myers helped his neighbor, 31-year-old Albert Martinez Jr., beat Chappell and dump her body.Martinez Jr. was also sentenced to life in prison for capital murder, while Alexandria Flores, 24, was sentenced to 35 years.Martinez's father, Albert Martinez Sr., 60, was sentenced to five years for tampering with physical evidence and Brian Thompson, 35, was sentenced to seven years.  Continue reading...
