Man Arrested in 2 Robberies Admits to 10 More in Denton Since August

A 28-year-old man arrested in connection with two armed robberies in Denton ended up confessing to 10 more, police said. Just before 10 p.m. Monday, the man reportedly robbed a Family Dollar in the 100 block of Maple Street then fled and committed another armed robbery at the EZ Check convenience store in the 700 block of Londonberry, police said. Investigators tracked Xavier Deylow Perkins back to a Super 8 Motel, where he was taken into custody. When police executed a search warrant on Perkins' motel and vehicle, they found evidence that tied him to the robberies. When he was interviewed he confessed to 12 robberies around Denton. Perkins had been arrested in December and charged with theft of property under $2,500 with two or more previous convictions.
