J.C. Penney Fills Key CFO Job With Exec From The Vitamin Shoppe

J.C. Penney said Tuesday it has a new chief financial officer. Bill Wafford, 47, joins the company with 25 years of broad finances experience, most recently he was executive vice president and CFO at The Vitamin Shoppe.Wafford fills one of the last key positions that was occupied on an interim basis after a few big departures last year.At The Vitamin Shoppe, Wafford played a significant role in reducing debt, decreasing inventory and improving operating income, Penney said. He joined the specialty retailer in 2017 he was a partner in the advisory practice group of KPMG following a five-years at Walgreens Boots Alliance.Earlier in his career he held finance-related jobs at Archstone Consulting, Bank of America and Target where he managed financial planning and analysis for $8 billion worth of women's and men's apparel.Twitter: @MariaHalkias  Continue reading...
