Harrison Ford Buzzes Dallas-bound American Airlines Jet With Mistaken Taxiway Landing

Actor Harrison Ford buzzed a Dallas-bound American Airlines plane at a California airport Monday when he landed on a taxiway instead of a runway.Ford, 74, was told to land on runway 20-L at John Wayne Airport near Los Angeles, NBC News reports, but inadvertently headed toward a runway. His single-engine Husky flew just over an American Airlines 737 with 110 passengers and six crew members aboard."Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?" Harrison asked air-traffic controllers, who told the star of Indiana Jones and Star Wars films that he had landed on a taxiway, a recording shows.The plane, American Airlines Flight 1456, was able to take off about 10 minutes behind schedule and landed at DFW International Airport just after 5 p.m., according to FlightAware.Ford was given correct landing instructions, the FAA said.  Continue reading...
