Philanthropists Bill and Melinda Gates, co-chairs of a namesake foundation that funnels billions of dollars into health and education initiatives, will receive this year's George W. Bush Medal for Distinguished Leadership.The Bush Presidential Center announced Thursday that the couple will accept the award April 11 at the center's Forum on Leadership at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Melinda Gates was born and raised in Dallas before heading off to Duke University for college and, after graduation, to Seattle and Microsoft Corp., where she met her husband.
