Garland Police Identify 18-year-old Suspect in Store Clerk's Fatal Shooting

Garland police have identified a suspect in the May 22 shooting death of convenience store clerk Heng Lam.An arrest warrant for capital murder has been issued for 18-year-old Luis Alejandro Espinoza, who is considered armed and dangerous, police said.The 30-year-old Lam was shot during a robbery at a convenience store in the 4400 block of West Walnut Street. He died later at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas.Investigators obtained security video showing two men entering the store with handguns drawn, demanding money from two clerks, police said.Anyone with information about Espinoza should call 911 or the Garland Police Department at 972-485-4840.Tips can be submitted anonymously to Garland Crime Stoppers at 972-272- 8477 or to garlandcrimestoppers.org.Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.  Continue reading...
