Garland Man Sexually Assaulted 7-year-old Girl After Snatching Her From Apartment Breezeway, Police Say

A 33-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly snatched a 7-year-old girl who was playing in a Garland apartment breezeway and sexually assaulted her, police say.Rossember Campos of Garland faces charges of aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child sexual contact. He is being held at the Dallas County jail in lieu of $50,000.While the girl was playing in the apartment breezeway in the 1900 block of W. Kingsley Road on July 11, Campos was watching her, grabbed her, and pulled her into an apartment, said Garland public information officer Lt. Pedro Barineau.Campos kissed her and rubbed her with his pelvic area before she could escape, Barineau said.The girl’s mom heard her screaming outside and confronted Campos. He ran away and police didn’t have an identification for him at the time of the offense, Barineau said.The person whose apartment he was in didn’t know his name, but they found his cell phone he left behind.
