Four Families Displaced in Far North Dallas Townhome Fire

Four townhomes were destroyed in a three-alarm fire that broke out Tuesday in Far North Dallas.Firefighters responded around 6 p.m. to what was initially thought to be a kitchen fire at Preston Oaks Townhomes in the 5000 block of Preston Oaks Road, Dallas Fire Rescue officials said.But flames were already coming through the roof by the time crews arrived, and firefighters had to fight the quickly advancing fire from a defensive position, officials said.All four townhomes in the building were destroyed and at least four families were displaced, firefighters said. The families are now under Red Cross care, officials said.No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation, officials said.  Continue reading...
