Flames Go Through Roof of Vacant Building in Northwest Dallas Slated to Be Family Dollar

Firefighters battled a three-alarm blaze overnight at a vacant building in northwest Dallas that was slated to be a Family Dollar. Flames and smoke were going through the roof of the one-story structure in the 2900 block of Walnut Hill Lane, near Harry Hines Boulevard, when crews arrived about 1:45 a.m. Thursday. It reached three alarm status because they needed more manpower, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said. No injuries were reported.
