First Peppa Pig Play Center in U.S. to Open Next Month at Grapevine Mills

The story has been updated with new information.Fans of Peppa Pig, the British preschool animated TV series, will be in hog heaven next month when Merlin Entertainments and Entertainment One launch Peppa Pig World of Play, an indoor play center at Grapevine Mills.The center, the first one to open in the United States, will be designed to give preschool children an opportunity to step into the world of Peppa Pig and explore and interact with recognizable locations from the show.Don't wear white.In addition to the cinema and gift shop, there also will be "plenty of muddy puddles," according to a the company. The 14,000-square-foot store contains 14 play areas recreated from the TV series."A meticulous level of detail has gone into creating each of the play areas, and we're also using the latest in visual and sensory effects technology to guarantee a truly memorable day out for families," said Paul Moreton, Merlin Entertainment's group creative director, in a statement.Peppa Pig World of Play will be operated by Merlin under a licensing agreement with eOne, owner of the Peppa Pig brand.A Peppa Pig World of Play launched in Shanghai in October.
