First Peek at the New Neiman Marcus Store in New York

What's not to like about Neiman Marcus' new store that opens Friday in New York City? It's open and airy, and it's filled with 305 pieces of art and amazing chandeliers and enough merchandise and services to keep a shopper there from morning until it's time to go out on the town. The store has three places to eat and drink, two spas, private shopping areas, great views and just enough nods to its 113-year Texas roots that say: This store is standing on your shoulders, y'all. Neiman Marcus dreamed up a new version of the luxury department store experience for its 43rd store that's designed to help expand its share in the biggest U.S market and grow itself out of its debt crisis. The three-level, 188,000-square-foot store anchors the Shops at Hudson Yards, a new mall that opens Friday on the Lower West Side of Manhattan The $25 billion Hudson Yards is a 28-acre neighborhood built over a working train yard.   Continue reading...
