WASHINGTON — Aides defended President Trump's claim to have personally seen "horror & devastation" during his Texas visit on Wednesday.Trump tweeted that "after witnessing first hand the horror & devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey,my heart goes out even more so to the great people of Texas!"But Trump stayed dry during stops a day before in Corpus Christi in Austin, meeting only with state and local officials and emergency personnel. He addressed an impromptu rally outside a Corpus fire station after a briefing from FEMA and other agencies. He didn't tour any flooded neighborhoods or meet anyone forced from a home.He's likely to get closer to the devastation zone on Saturday when he returns to Texas, probably to the Houston area.
