Denison Family Looking for Person Who Shot Their Pet Deer 9 Times, Left It to Die

A Denison family is looking for answers after someone shot their pet deer and then fled. The 5-year-old deer named Beav had been living on the property of Sue Eperjesi, according to KXII-TV (Channel 12). Beav was one of 11 deer on her property, but none of the other deer were harmed."Beav was probably standing there watching them, thinking they were going to give him a snack or talk to him," Eperjesi said. "Instead they just shot him and left."According to a Facebook post from Erik Burns, who's a friend of the Eperjesi family, Beav was shot in the neck and left to die on the Eperjesi property along Farm to Market Road 131. Burns' post has been shared more than 1,800 times as of Monday afternoon."I felt it was my duty as a friend to do this," Burns told Channel 12. "It angered me to see my friends hurt by the loss of their deer. It is just sick that someone would drive up, shoot a deer in cold blood and then drive off."Eperjesi said she's working with Grayson County game wardens and other law enforcement officials to find the shooter. She said other people in the area reported to authorities that their pets were shot as well."I cannot even imagine what kind of person who would do this to someone's pet," Eperjesi said.  Continue reading...
