Flashback: Take a look back into the archives of The Dallas Morning News.Dallas struck gold at the 1984 Olympics when a team of swimmers, two from Dallas, defeated the unbeatable German swimmer Michael Gross and set a world record on July 30, 1984, in "the most exciting race" the games had seen. Bruce Hayes and Mike Heath, who hailed from Highland Park, along with Jeff Float and David Larson, beat the German team by 0.04 seconds in the 800-relay race.  Continue reading...
