Dallas Man Faces Charges After Enrolling at Fake University Set Up by ICE, Feds Say

A Dallas man is one of eight people facing federal charges after authorities say they enrolled at a fake university in Michigan and recruited others to do the same as part of a scheme to fraudulently obtain immigration documents from the school.Naveen Prathipati, 26, faces charges of conspiracy to commit visa fraud and harboring aliens for profit after an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations, the investigative arm of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to an indictment unsealed Wednesday.ICE set up the University of Farmington, which purported to be an accredited business and STEM institution that "traces its lineage back to the early 1950s," according to its now-deleted website.  Continue reading...
