Dallas Man Arrested After 3-year-old Son Found Wandering Taco Cabana Parking Lot During Thunderstorm

A Dallas man faces a child endangerment charge after his 3-year-old son was found wandering a Taco Cabana parking lot alone during a morning thunderstorm last week in Far Northeast Dallas, according to police documents.Justin Davis, 25, was released from the Dallas County jail on $2,500 bond.The child had a full diaper, no shoes, and scratches on his feet when he was found on June 3, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.When police arrived at a McDonald's in the 11700 block of Plano Road, where the boy had been brought, they saw Davis walking toward the restaurant from a hotel on Metric Drive, where he is staying. But after Davis recognized an officer from a similar call earlier the same week, he immediately turned and left the scene, according to the affidavit.Police went to Davis' room, where he told them he did not know where his son was. The boy's mother said her son must have left the house while she and her boyfriend and Davis were sleeping. None of the adults were able to say when they had last seen the child. Police saw bottles with a yellow, almost clear liquid inside the room. Police were told there was no formula in the house. Child Protective Services took custody of the boy and his 1-year-old sibling. The children's mother is 8 months pregnant with her third child, according to the affidavit.  Continue reading...
