Coppell ISD Middle School Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Behavior With Student

A Coppell ISD middle school teacher accused of inappropriate behavior with a student was arrested Monday on campus, officials say. The Dallas County Sheriff's Department arrested Julie Jenkin Brewer, 45, about 3:30 p.m. at Coppell Middle School West in the 2700 block of Ranch Trail in Dallas. Officials had received a complaint about alleged inappropriate text and social media messages between Brewer and a student, sheriff's department spokesman Raul Reyna said. Brewer was interviewed and faces a charge of online solicitation of a minor. Staff and parents were notified of her arrest in a letter Monday afternoon. Brewer resigned and is no longer allowed on any Coppell ISD campus or facility. The State Board for Educator Certification has also been notified, Reyna said. Brewer had previously been listed on the school's website as a seventh-grade language arts educator and sixth- through eighty-grade READ 180 educator.  Continue reading...
