Armed Men Outrun Police in High-speed Chase After Stealing Pills From Weatherford Pharmacy

Two armed men managed to outrun police during a high-speed chase after stealing pain pills from a Walgreens in Weatherford early Monday.Walgreens employees said the pair, whose faces were covered, came into the store in the 1300 block of Main Street around 4:45 a.m. One brandished a handgun and ordered the employees to lie on the floor while the other went to the pharmacy, got the keys for the drug cabinet and took hydrocodone. The pair then ran off.Responding police attempted to stop a blue Mercedes sedan, which they said seemed suspicious, in a nearby neighborhood. When the car sped off toward Interstate 20, police gave chase.During the chase, the Mercedes' occupants were seen throwing items from the car, police said. Police later recovered a handgun and clothing.The chase continued onto Interstate 30, and police lost track of the speeding Mercedes near Interstate 820 in West Fort Worth — about 20 miles from where the chase began.Authorities described one of the robbers as a tall, thin black man with a mustache.
