American Airlines Passenger Dies After DFW-London Flight Lands in Canada

A 52-year-old man suffered a heart attack aboard an American Airlines flight from Dallas to London and later died Thursday morning when the plane was diverted to Canada.American Airlines Flight 80 landed around 1:30 a.m. in Ottawa after the passenger reported feeling ill, CTV News Ottawa reported.Paramedics on the ground tried to revive the man, but he was later pronounced dead, the London Daily Mail reported. He has not been identified.Flight attendants also performed CPR while the plane was still in the air, according to CTV News Ottawa.Fort Worth-based American Airlines released a statement quoted in the London Mirror that didn't mention the passenger's death."American Airlines flight 80, from Dallas Fort Worth to London Heathrow, diverted to Ottawa due to an ill passenger," the statement read. "The flight landed at 2:28 a.m. local time this morning, where medical personnel met the aircraft. You will need to check with medical personnel for any other details."Flight 80 re-fueled, and re-departed Ottawa at 4:36 a.m. local time, and is currently en route to London."  Continue reading...
