Amazon Is Adding Planes to Its Shipping Fleet to Get Your Prime Deliveries to You Faster

Amazon is adding an additional 15 aircraft to its shipping fleet in an effort to further speed up delivery to customers' doors.The massive online retailer announced Tuesday that it will lease 15 Boeing 737-800 cargo aircraft. Amazon said it has 42 planes in its fleet now and will have 70 by 2021."These new aircraft create additional capacity for Amazon Air, building on the investment in our Prime Free One-Day program," said Dave Clark, senior vice president of worldwide operations at Amazon.The planes are a major development in expanding the company's Amazon Air service, which began in 2016.
