4 Bodies Cap Another Busy Week for Dallas Police as City Surpasses 100 Killings in 2019

After an especially bloody 24 hours Thursday and Friday, Dallas has surpassed 100 homicides this year — twice as many people as were slain in the first half of 2018. Dallas police investigated four slayings at homes in Pleasant Grove, near Oak Lawn and in Lakewood, where a shooting left two people dead and their killer at large. The unidentified man and woman became the 102nd and 103rd homicide victims this year.That puts the city on pace for the highest number of homicides in more than a decade, an uptick in violent crime that prompted the governor to send state troopers to help and also inspired an already shorthanded police force to assign more detectives to its homicide unit.  Continue reading...
