POLICE SAY TEACHER HAD SEX WITH 14-YEAR-OLD STUDENT
Dallas police arrested a 26-year-old school band director Wednesday on suspicion of sexual assault. A 14-year-old female student told police she had sex with Calvin Beckton, a teacher at Boude Storey Middle School, in October. (NBC DFW)

THIEVES TARGET VEHICLES AT FITNESS CENTERS IN 9 CITIES
Police said three thieves have racked up thousands of dollars on credit cards to stolen from vehicles parked at fitness centers in nine North Texas cities. (NBC DFW)

FW ROBBER TARGETS ELDERLY PEOPLE RETURNING FROM GROCERY SHOPPING
Police are searching for a woman suspected of targeting elderly shoppers returning home from buying groceries. Fort Worth police have had five similar cases. The victims ranged in age from 80 to 95, according to police reports.  (NBC DFW)

CONVICTED KILLER OF MEQUITE WOMAN SET TO DIE THURSDAY 
On a 911 recording, 8-year-old Jacoby Talbert was breathing heavily when he identified "Robert" as the man who slashed his throat and killed his mother at their Dallas-area apartment. Robert Jean Hudson, a 45-year-old death row inmate is now scheduled to die in the state death chamber for the slaying. (NBC DFW)

DENTON JAILER TOLD INMATE HE'D GO FREE IF HE VOTED FOR MCCAIN
Denton police are discussing possible punishments for a city jailer who told a detainee on Election Day that he would be released if he voted for John McCain. (Dallas Morning News)

2 MORE CELL PHONES FOUND ON TEXAS' DEATH ROW
