This is why the Dallas Cowboys have become a joke NFL franchise like the Oakland Raiders. They are involved in reality TV...again.
Last summer Jerry Jones allowed his Cowboys to be featured on "Hard Knocks" during training camp. Once again the Cowboys missed the playoffs. You think they would have swore of reality TV.
Nope, Michael Irvin is putting together his own reality show where 12 wannabe football players will train with him. The winner gets an invite to Dallas Cowboys training camp.
"I don't know if you can walk upon any group of guys that wouldn't say they dreamed of playing in the NFL when they were playing in their front yard," Irvin told The Associated Press on Thursday. "So we're going to take a group of guys from their front yard, dwindle them to one and give that guy the opportunity of a lifetime."
The Cowboys confirmed that one of their 80 roster spots will go to the show's winner. The NFL did not immediately return a call.
Uggh.
Why would Jones waste a roster spot on some camp body with limited NFL skills? Roster spots are too valuable to waste and putting the winner of the Irvin reality TV show is doing that.
You won't see the Pittsburgh Steelers or New England Patriots being involved in stunts like this.
