9/9: Ringwald, Ringo, and Ring-Ring

JOLLY TROLLEY: In celebration of the "M Line" turning 20, organizers are putting together "Dine on the Line," a culinary and cocktail celebration down at the Fashion Institute Gallery. If they're serving as many cocktails as we're expecting, "Rosie," the 100-year-old streetcar will be running with full occupants. Party starts early at 6 p.m.

JOHN, PAUL, GEORGE, AND YOU (SORRY RINGO): While the three-part harmonies might entice some Rock Band vets to return for The Beatles: Rock Band, we're looking more forward to the custom drum-kit with fake drum-head in front. Don't deny you'll be on XBOX Live or PSN wailing away to be the first with 100% Expert drums on Tomorrow Never Knows Now all we need is a mop-top, and we're Ringo, right?

NERD + PANTIES = WIN: Some people put themselves in the "Pretty in Pink" camp, but for our dollars, Long Duck Dong -- offensive as he is -- is the much funnier character with duck in his name. That's part of the reason we're so excited that the Belmont Hotel is screening "Sixteen Candles" in memory of John Hughes as the kickoff to their fall edition of the free poolside movie night. Yeah, Molly Ringwald. For free. Doors open at 7 p.m.
