12/23: “Not Quite” Christmas Cheer

The Video Stars at HOB, It's a Wonderful Life at the Angelika and ladies night!

VIDEO DIDN’T KILL THESE STARS: After finding refuge in gamer land, The Video Stars hopped out of the boob tube and onto a soundstage (in iconic video game superstar attire) to play their own legendary rock beats for gaming fans and music enthusiasts alike. Tonight, the foursome known as Lotus, Munch, Speed and Zario take the House of Blues Dallas stage prepared to rock your gaming fanatic socks off. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $5 to $15.

BRINGING BACK A HOLIDAY TRADITION: The black and white tale of George Bailey’s journey through time and space takes the big screen at the Angelika Film Center. As part of the “Not Quite” Christmas Movies series, let guardian angel Clarence show you how much of a difference one person can make. “It’s a Wonderful Life” is synonymous with Christmas cheer as one of those holiday classics everyone should watch during this time of year (aside from the 24-hour “A Christmas Story” tradition). Head to Mockingbird Station to see the movie starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $6.

OH YES, IT’S LADIES NIGHT: Women have a knack for shopping, so if you’ve finished your holiday shopping early (because it just comes naturally) and could use a bit of downtime, round up the girls and head to Sangria Tapas y Bar in Dallas for ladies night. Sip on $5 martinis and wine as early as 4 p.m. They don’t close until 2 a.m., so drink up before a long night of gift wrapping! And, if you can't take advantage of the discounted drinks tonight, don't worry there's always next Thursday.
